Innovations in Display Tech Bring Us Closer to the Digital World
The traditional projection set-up in the Lurdy Cinema’s Screen 10 has been replaced by an 11.5m-wide Samsung Onyx Cinema LED display with 4K resolution. The 62 sq metre display is the largest Onyx screen supporting 3D to have been installed in Europe, according to a report by Hungarian business and economics news outlet Világgazdaság.
The Škoda Peaq is exceptional not only for its generous amount of space, comfortable interior, and cutting-edge aerodynamics. It also stands out for its approach to vehicle controls, combining a large infotainment display with physical controls. Take a look at how the developers thought through the ergonomics.
The P2.5 direct-view Tricorne Premium LED screen is installed in the theatre's SPX Direct premium-format auditorium and powered by GDC Technology Limited SR-5520 LED media server technology. The acoustically transparent Tricorne screen allows the loudspeakers to be positioned behind the LED screen.
The new release is Kaleido 4 and aims to address color reproduction and contrast issues, not to mention the speed of page refreshes. “Compared to the previous generation, E Ink Kaleido 4 doubles its color gamut volume to more than 40K, increases white reflectance by 15%, and improves contrast by 50%,” the maker of the screen announced.
Without a doubt, the biggest announcement of the day is the new "Apple HomeView." This is Apple's first dedicated smart hub, complete with a seven-inch square display attached to a domed speaker by a stainless steel hinge. Like Apple's other screens, the display comes with True Tone, and while it reaches a respectable 500 nits of brightness, it can also drop to as low as 0.3 nits, which Apple says makes it great for nightstands.
In the past, Xreal’s design was thinner and lighter than Viture’s, but they had a notably dimmer display. That’s been fixed now with the One Pro Plus, which have 1,200 nits of brightness (versus 700 for the One Pro display glasses). The One Pro Plus also have a smoother AI 3D conversion mode that turns any 2D image or video (or connected game) into 3D.
