Abstract: This fast-paced talk covers the
subject of LCD in-cell touch technology. After some introductory
groundwork, the talk goes into the details of light-sensing
("optical"), voltage-sensing ("switch-sensing"), and
charge-sensing ("capacitive-sensing") in-cell touch. How each
technology works, who is working on it, advantages, disadvantages, and
products in the market or coming to market are all explained. The talk
wraps up with a comparison of the three in-cell touch technologies, a
market forecast, and a
prediction of the overall impact of in-cell touch technologies. The
information in this talk includes updates
obtained in January 2010 from
every major LCD manufacturer and is therefore very current. Target duration
for the talk is one hour plus questions.
