Polar Vision to be Exclusive Distributor of OCLI HEA 2000 in N.A. & Europe

Santa Rosa, California, May 13 - Polar Vision Inc., a DuPont Displays company, and OCLI, a JDS Uniphase company, announced today that Polar Vision will have exclusive rights to distribute OCLI's HEA® 2000™ and HEA® Protect™ antireflection display enhancement products in North America and Europe. 

The agreement brings together OCLI's capabilities in designing and producing high performance thin film coatings with Polar Vision's expertise in lamination and its extensive sales and marketing channels. The partnership will offer HEA 2000 on a worldwide level. Benefits of OCLI's antireflection coatings include superior durability for longer product life, excellent surface quality for high fabrication yields, standard coatings for OEM design flexibility, and competitive pricing, the company said. 

"With unparalleled sales channels and dedicated manufacturing representatives, Polar Vision was a clear choice as distribution partner," said Tony McGettigan, director of OCLI's display business unit. " Polar Vision will also be able to utilize the sales force of NEC and Arrow Electronics, who already carry Polar Vision products.

Fruits of TLC-Toyo Alliance to be Exhibited at SID 

Phoenix, Arizona, May 10 - TLC International announced today that it recently solidified an alliance with Toyo Industrial Co, Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. TLC will distribute Toyo's electric-discharge-ground, long-life, tungsten carbide wheels to high-tech industrial manufacturers throughout the world at competitive pricing, and the wheel will be available on the TLC's Phoenix-600 High Accuracy Rectilinear/SHAPES Glass Cutter. 

The combination of the Toyo TAP (vibrating) wheel and TLC's calibrated wheel-placement accuracy, permits the Phoenix-600 to provide close tolerances, high throughput, clean afterbreak edge quality, and high yields for all thin, flat-glass applications, said Marketing Director Maribeth Linden. "At approximately half the cost of comparable equipment available in the world today, TLC's equipment remains the leader as the most affordable single-head, computer-controlled, mechanical glass cutter for curvilinear and/or rectilinear parts," Linden said.
