Humphrey K.W. Leung

Mr. Humphrey K.W. Leung graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Electronic Engineering in 1979 and received a MSc Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Hong Kong. Mr. Leung also obtained a Diploma in Management Studies jointly organized by the Hong Kong Management Association and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is the Chartered Engineer of HKIE and IEE, and is also the Vice Chairman of IC Design & Application Sub-Committee of the HK Electronic Industries Association. 

Mr. Leung has over 20 years experience in the semiconductors industry and worked for Motorola for 16 years. His working experience covered IC design, wafer fabrication, engineering, manufacturing and marketing. He was one of the first few IC designers who started the IC design industry in Hong Kong in the late 70's. He worked in Silicon Valley of California as IC design. He also worked in the Motorola wafer fab in Austin, Texas. In Motorola, he had managed business of products such as Logic, ASIC, Telecom, DSP and Display. His last functional role in Motorola was the Director of Operations who managed global teams to develop new products and businesses where in particular, Motorola display IC business is under his responsibility.

In 1999, Mr. Leung founded Solomon Systech Limited (SSL) and is currently the President and Managing Director of the company. SSL is a Hong Kong based fabless semiconductor company focuses to develop semiconductor IC products for global mobile display market. The company has won several major industrial awards and recognitions including the 2001 Hong Kong Award for Industry: Export Marketing, the 2001 Hong Kong New SME Gold Award, 2001 HKSTP Technological Achievement Award, 2001 Trade and Industry Department Quality Award, 2001 HKPC Certificate of Merit in Productivity, the Silver Award in 2001 Motorola PCS supplier TFE Showcase and the 2002 HKEIA Gold Award and Grand Award for Outstanding Innovation and Technology Products. In addition, Mr. Leung has the honor to receive the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong 2001.
