Amal Ghosh
Amal Ghosh is currently Vice President at
eMagin Corporation, Hopewell Junction, NY, responsible for
Display Research and Development and Process Engineering of
Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology for flat panel
display applications. Prior to rejoining eMagin Corporation,
Dr. Ghosh was Director of Advanced Process Development at
eMagin Corporation and was instrumental in developing numerous
processes and techniques in the areas of OLEDs and Field
Emission displays.
He was previously Program Manager at Eastman
Kodak Company involved with OLED display R&D for nearly
three years. Prior to Kodak, he was with IBM for nearly ten
years, both at the T. J. Watson Research Laboratories and at
the Microelectronics Division. During his tenure in IBM as a
scientist he contributed to numerous programs involving
semiconductor technology and LCD flat panel displays.
In his professional career, he has more than
40 publications and 15 patents to his credit. He has also
taught short courses on OLEDs and FEDs at Society of
Information Displays conferences. Dr. Ghosh has more than two
decades of industrial experience. In 2003 he received SID's
Special Recognition Award for his work in the field of OLEDs
and FEDs.
Dr. Ghosh has extensive experience within SID.
He is presently a member of the Board of Directors of SID. He
is the General Chair for the SID 2008 International
Conference. He was the Program Chair for the SID 2006
International Conference. He was also the Program Chair for
the International Display Research and Development Conference
for 2003. He was the Seminar Chair for the Society for
Information Display Conference for 2003, 2004 and 2005. He has
also served as Short Course Chair and has chaired numerous
conference sessions. He has also served as an Associate Guest
Editor of the Journal of the SID. He was Vice-President,
Programs, for the New York Chapter of the Imaging Science and
Technology Society. He has been the Director of the
Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Society for Information Displays since
2002. He was previously the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary
of the Chapter. He is also a member of the American Physical
Society.
Dr. Ghosh obtained a Ph.D. degree in Physics
from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA in
1985.
