Abstract

The design and fabrication of microdisplay devices e.g. LCD, LCOS, MEMS, and OLED are analyzed, and related to projection, near-eye, and head-up applications. Color field sequential, and pulse modulation issues are addressed. The impact of advances in LED and laser diode illumination of projectors is discussed.
