Alaide Pellegrini Mammana
Alaide Pellegrini Mammana received the B.S. in Physics in 1962 and the Ph.D in Electrical Engineering in 1973, both from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), S. Paulo, Brazil. She worked for the Instituto de Energia Atômica, S. Paulo, from 1963 to 1966. She joined the Physics Institute of USP, from 1966 to 1974, and the Electrical Engineering School of Universidade de Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, as an Associate and Full Professor, from 1974 to 1991 when she retired. Since 1985 she is the Head of the Information Display R&D Program (LCD, OLED and FED technologies) at the Centro de Pesquisas Renato Archer (CenPRA/MCT), in Campinas. She created and coordinated the Iberomerican Network on Liquid Crystal Displays (Rede IX:B) of CYTED Program (Ciencia y Tecnologia para el Desarrollo) from 1992 to 2000. Presently she coordinates the Iberoamerican Network on Information Displays (Rede IX:F) of CYTED and the Brazilian Network on Information Displays (BrDisplay) in which participate quite a hundred institutions and companies. She worked for the creation of the Latin American SID Chapter and organized up to now three seminars of the Chapter.
